SC Board VC reviews implementation of welfare schemes

JAMMU, Sept 28: Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Schedule Castes, Bushan Lal Dogra today chaired a meeting of senior officers to review the implementation of various welfare schemes.
The meeting was attended by Director Urban Local Bodies, Soujanya Sharma, Director School Education Jammu, Smita Sethi, MD. SC, ST, OBC Development Corporation, Yashpaul Suman, Joint Director, Social Welfare, Pran Singh, Deputy Director Planning, Kamal K Sharma Deputy Director CAPD, M. Sayeed Khan and Deputy Director Planning Statistical School Education, Kewal Kumar Sharma.
While chairing the meeting, Vice Chairman informed that the Advisory Board would soon get its own website to ensure that it can reach out to the stakeholders more efficiently. He stressed upon the officers of the concerned departments that the schemes meant for development of SCs should be implemented in letter and spirit, adding that report should be submitted to the Board for quarterly review.
Deliberations were also held on progress of scholarship schemes, status of SC hostels, submission of DPR as per guideline under Babu Jagjivan Ram Chatrawas Yojana, number of anganwari centers created recently in which SC hamlets are covered, vocational training programmes, etc.
Underlining the importance of organizing awareness camps in rural and far-flung areas, VC asked the concerned officers to ensure that such awareness programmes highlighting the welfare programmes meant for the target groups are organized on regular basis.
