POONCH, Sept 28: Member Legislative Council, Dr. Shehnaz Ganai today visited Government Higher Secondary School Sawjian and inspected the available infrastructural and other facilities in the institution.
Dr. Shehnaz has adopted the institution for its development as a model school and has assured adequate funding out of her Constituency Development Fund (CDF). She also asked the concerned authorities to prepare a detailed project report in this regard so that the school, located in a far flung pocket of the district with high strength of students especially girls, is developed on most modern lines.
“The issue of upgradation of HSS Sawjian has also been taken up with the higher authorities of Education Department for its inclusion in the list of institutions to be developed as model schools”, said Dr. Shehnaz, who was also accompanied by DEPO Poonch, Narinder Suri.
Underlining the importance of upgrading the school infrastructure in far lung areas of the district, Dr. Shehnaz said to provide quality education necessary infrastructure in the shape of additional class rooms, library, laboratory, smart classes besides required staff has to be ensured, adding further that academics in the school would be strengthened by providing modern facilities and introducing innovative teaching tools.
