8 pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi injured in road accident

KATRA, Sept 29: Eight pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi were injured when a Haryana Roadways bus, on way from Katra to Jammu, rammed into a roadside tree near Shani-Mandir, Kadmal, here today.
The injured were rushed to Katra hospital wherefrom two of them referred to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of their serious injuries.  They were identified as Kirti (20), daughter of Sulesh of Meerut (UP) and Meera Gupta (32) wife of Guddu Kumar of Gorakhpur (UP).
Kirti’s younger sister Reeti (15) and their mother Geeta (37) were among the injured, admitted in Katra Hospital.
The Haryana Roadways bus, HR 55T 3846, was allegedly being driven rashly when it met with the accident. Police has arrested the bus driver, identified as Balwan Singh of Bhalwana, Haryana.
Other injured, admitted at Katra Hospital, are;  Haresh (24), son of Roshan Singh, Rashmi (28) wife of Shakil, Satyabati (49), wife of Ramesh Singh and  Rakesh Kumar (39), son of Banarsi Dass. All are resident of Dawarikapuri, Delhi.
