Jammu printers get national awards

CHENNAI, Sept 29: The 10th “National Awards for Excellence in Printing” presentation ceremony was held at Chennai by All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP) in collaboration with RICOH.
AIFMP had received as many as 1477 entries from various printers all over the country. Out of these,  three entries;  one submitted by Pankaj Sethi of M/s Sethi Art Printers and two by Arun K  Gupta of M/s Arun Art Printers of J&K Offset Printers’ Association Jammu,  were selected by the judges for conferring awards.
Pankaj Sethi,  accompanied by Rahul Mahajan,  received Gold Medal for Digital Variable Data Printing Multicolour in Digital category while  Arun K  Gupta,  accompanied by Ravi Gupta,  was awarded Silver Medal and  Certificate of Merit for Newspaper in Offset category, respectively.
The event was hosted jointly by Sivakasi Master Printers’ Association, The Madras Printers and Lithographers Association. Prof M S Swaminathan, founder Chairman, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation and Dr K Sivan, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, ISRO, Trivandrum, were the chief guests on the occasion.
Delivering his keynote, Nobel Prize nominee Prof M S Swaminathan, who is hailed as “the Indian Father of Green Revolution”, said, “Excellence in any field should be the mission of any industry.”
Dr Sivan, Director and scientist, ISRO, Trivandrum, distributed the awards and enthralled the audience with the details of India’s frugal yet efficient space programmes.
The NAEP was supported by Ministry of Commerce & Industry Govt. of India and sponsored by RICOH India.
The awards in fact, were aimed to showcase Indian Printers’ achievements & contribution and to create awareness about their capabilities.
Ravi Gupta, Rahul Mahajan, Arun Gupta and  Pankaj Sethi also attended the 228th Governing Council meeting of All India Federation of Master Printers at Hotel Leela Palace.
