Chilli, Jeera decline on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Aug 25: In thin trading, prices of red chilli and jeera fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to weak domestic as well as export demand.
Red chilli prices fell further by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 6,400-11,900 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also declined by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 15,200-15,300 and Rs 18,400-18,900 per quintal.
Traders said subdued export and domestic demand against adequate stocks pulled down chilli, and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 11,000-16,000, black pepper (per kg) 470-580, betelnut (kg) 160-195, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 850-950, and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,000-1,500.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 690-780, cardamom (colour robin) 600-680, cardamom bold 650-700, cardamom extra (bold) 950-1,000 and cloves (kg) 600-670.
