NEW DELHI, Sept 30: Silver prices were down by Rs 89 to Rs 34,866 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposures amid a weak trend in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver prices for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 89, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 34,866 per kg in business turnover of 728 lots.
Similarly, the white metal prices for delivery in far- month March next year declined Rs 73, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 35,615 per kg in business volume of three lots.
In the international market, silver prices traded 0.17 per cent lower at USD 14.62 an ounce in Singapore.
Marketmen said off-loading of positions by participants amid a weak trend in global markets after consumer confidence in the US unexpectedly rose in September, building the case for an interest rate increase this year, put pressure on silver prices at futures trade here. (PTI)
