RAJOURI, Sept 30: A large number of daily rated, casual and need base workers from various departments today took out a protest rally in the town here.
The workers from PHE, I&FC, PDD, RDD and several other departments assembled near PHE office here and started protest rally in the town. They were carrying banners and placards in their hands depicting slogans. They also shouted slogans demanding their regularization, release of pending wages and timely payments to all the temporary workers. They also demanded framing of a clear policy for their regularization.
After passing through various markets and main bazaar, the rally reached at DC office where they submitted a memorandum for the State Government. Noted trade union leader Gafoor Dar also addressed them besides some other local leaders. They stressed upon the Government to resolve the pending issues of the workers and frame a definite policy for their regularization and ensure timely payment of their monthly wages. They dispersed after address by several trade unionists.
