I S Jha takes charge as interim CMD of Power Grid

NEW DELHI, Oct 1:
State-run transmission utility Power Grid today said its Director (Projects) I S Jha has taken over the additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director of the company from today.
“PowerGrid’s Director (Projects) I S Jha has taken over additional charge of Chairman & Managing Director of the company with effect from 1.10.2015,” the company said in a statement.
Jha, an electrical engineer from NIT, Jamshedpur, has been the Director (Projects) in the company since September 2009, it said.
He is also on board of state transmission utilities of Haryana and Madhya Pradesh, Governing Board Member of CPRI and Member of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Forest Management, it said.
Besides, he is the member of several professional bodies including Institute of Engineers (India), Power Engineering Society of IEEE in USA and CIGRE, France, it added.
The Government head-hunter PESB had earlier recommended Jha’s name for the post of CMD at Power Grid Corporation.
Jha has been recommended by Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) from a list of eight contenders, according to information on PESB website. (PTI)
