Army Commander greets MNS on 90th Raising Day

JAMMU, Oct 1:  The General Officer Commanding-in- Chief (GOC-in-C) of the Udhampur based Northern Command Lt Gen D S Hooda today extended greetings to the Military Nursing Service staff on their 90th Raising Day.
The nursing officers of Military Nursing Service (MNS) at Command Hospital Udhampur celebrated their 90th Raising Day today.
“On this occasion, Lt Gen D S Hooda, GOC-in-C (Army Commander) extended his greetings to all MNS officers and their families, staff of MNS in the Command Zone”, an Army spokesman said.
He said that the Military Nursing Service is an integral glorious service of Defence Forces with an enduring ability to deliver effective nursing care to the sick and wounded, despite all constraints.
The mission of MNS is “Excellence in Patient Care” both in war and peace, which is pursued with utmost fervour, zeal and zest, he said.
“On Oct 1, 1926, a permanent nursing service for the Indian troops was formed and was designated as Indian Military Nursing Service”, he said.
He said that MNS Officer’s valuable contribution to the armed forces has been well appreciated all around both in India and abroad.
“MNS Officers have not only achieved professional efficiency but have also rendered quality service with dedication, missionary zeal and empathy. MNS in Jammu and Kashmir always emulate their motto at all times which is ‘Service to all with a simile'”, he said.
