JAMMU, Oct 2: The problems of physically handicapped persons were discussed in detail in a meeting of J&K Handicapped Welfare Forum (JKHWF) under the chairmanship of Charan Dass at Ghagwal today.
While addressing Surinder Khajuria criticized the State Government for maintaining total silence over the problems and demands of physically challenged persons and not even a single demand of their has been conceded so far by the authorities at the helm.
Tehsil Hiranagar president of the Forum Rajesh Khajuria flayed the Government for not enhancing pension of the disabled persons as a result they are bound to die of starvation. Forum chairman Charan Dass appealed all the MLAs and MLCs to raise the issue of disabled persons in both the houses of Legislature.
While speaking the speakers warned the Government to immediately accept all their genuine demands, failing which they would be compelled to launch state-wide agitation, the responsibility of which would lie on the Government.
Those who participated in the meeting were Rajinder Kumar, Shindi Devi, Meenu Devi, Madan Lal, Vijay Kumar, Tarsem Lal, Giani, Neelam Devi etc.
