JAMMU, Oct 3: MES Builders Association of India (MESBAI), Jammu Branch organized Engineers Builders meeting here today.
On the occasion, Chief Engineer, Northern Command, Major General L Padmanaban was the chief guest, whileas Brigadier AN Thakur, Chief Engineer Udhampur Zone and Er DR Kurdiya, Chief Engineer, Air Force were guests of honour.
Som Nath Khajuria, Chairman of MESBAI Jammu Branch, VM Goel, secretary of the Jammu Branch and other office bearers of MESBAI Jammu branch were also present. Various officers of the MES Department and senior members were also present.
During the meeting, the agenda points discussed pertained to delay in finalization of final bills, delay in finalization of work order, streamlining of e-tendering process, simplification and standardization of applicable drawings should be preferred, decision making process for interpreting contracts is very cumbersome and not only adds to delay in progress of works but also leads to disputes, time for completion shall be based on foreseeing the nature of work, working conditions, working period, militancy effect and other related conditions.
All the tenders having completion period beyond 6 months should have provision of escalation, shortage of funds, grant of extension, list of approved manufacturers, submission of purchase vouchers and role of PMG/entry of work site were other agenda points, which were discussed in the meet.
