ASKPC extends full support to Shrine Bill movement

JAMMU, Oct 4: All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) today extended full support to the struggle launched by Kashmiri Pandits for the passage Kashmri Hindus and Shrines Bill by Pt Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust.
Assuring his support to the PNBMT the newly elected president of ASKPC advocate Ravinder Raina during an interactive session with the Trust here today said that entire community should come forward and extend its support to the Trust for the passage of the Bill as the condition of Hindu shrines in Valley is bad as there is no proper management body to look after them after the mass exodus of the community.
The function was organized by the Trust to honour Mr Raina on his election as the new president of the ASKPC some days back. Raina said that the Trust deserves all commendation in channelizing the community demand for the Shrine Bill. The function was chaired by the president of the Trust Dr A N Pandita.
The function was attended by a galaxy of the community including Profs R L Shant, P N Trisal, Veena Gurtu, Kusum Koul, A K Sidha, Vijay Kashkari, Shiban Khaibri, Sundri Lal Koul, Subash Chatta, B B Gosain, B L Bhat, A K Sidha, B L Zar, M M Thaplo, Bimal Wanto, Bansi Lal Hando, Balji Maju, Dr. T K Bhat, S K Raina besides a host of the members of the general body of PNBMT.
The speaker’s including H L Bhat, Dr. R L Bhat, Prof A N Sadhu, P N Goja, Sundri Lal Koul, Puskar Nath, A K Raina, Jaikumar Pathan, Sheela Handoo, M K Yogi, Dr B L Handu, Sharda Nandan, Subash Chatta, M K Jalali, recalled the role of AKSPC as the Premier organization of the Hindus of Kashmir which had been led by stalwarts of the community. The speakers spoke of the great services of the past presidents late A N Vaishnavi and late H L Chatta. They also praised the role outgoing president R K Raina and the Election Commissioner A K Raina and advocate P N Goja had played in conducting the elections of the body after 28 years.
The speakers impressed upon Adv. Raina to make AKSPC an active organization and to increase membership to include all Hindus of Kashmir in it. His contribution, they said would be measured by the way the democratic norms are instituted. They also spoke of the need for activating Martand. The speakers highlighted the need of the Shrine Bill for the Protection, Preservation and Management of the Hindu shrines and Temples in Kashmir in a transparent democratic manner.
