Police works out temple theft case

JAMMU, Aug 26: Police today arrested two thieves and recovered gold ornament, which they had stolen from Thakur Dwar Temple, Arnia.
Police spokesman said that, priest of Thakur Dwar Temple, Arnia filed a complaint with Police Station Arnia about the theft of gold ornament ‘Nath’ of the idol.
A case under FIR number 65/ 12 under Sections 457/ 380 RPC was registered, he said, adding, that during investigation, police arrested Roshan Lal, son of Raj Kumar of ward number 8, Arnia, Tehsil Bishnah and Sandeep Saini, son of Tarseem Saini of Arnia.
During questioning, they disclosed that they have sold the ornament to gold smith Pawan Kumar, son of Chuni Lal of ward number 8, Arnia, spokesman said, adding, that the gold smith was also arrested and gold ‘Nath’ was also recovered from his possession.
Further questioning from the trio is going on to ascertain their involvement in other thefts cases too.
