BILLAWAR (Kathua), Oct 4: All India Students Federation (AISF), District Unit Kathua held a meeting with the students of Govt Degree College, Billawar and discussed various issues pertaining to the student community in general and GDC Billawar in particular.
The meeting was held under the leadership of AISF District president Kathua, Ravinder Katoch and secretary Kaka Ram. Students of GDC Billawar raised several genuine demands. Most important was the lack of staff. They pointed out that even some subjects are running without any teacher and moreover, Govt and Jammu University authorities are pushing the future of students towards dark.
Mr Katoch said that there is no permanent staff since the session started and exams are drawing nearer, hardly after 45 days. How the students will manage to complete their syllabus? The contractual teachers stayed only for a single year in the college and this shows how much Government is serious about the studies of the students, he added.
Kaka Ram said that AISF is fighting for students rights and if Government would not manage staff within ten days, the students will be compelled to come out on the road for their right.
Earlier, AISF team headed by Katoch visited in different adjoining schools of Billawar and gathered report about the functioning of the schools.
