Srinagar, Oct 4: A 21 year old woman, Asiya, who was allegedly set ablaze by her husband in South Kashmir district of Shopian succumbed to her injuries today.
The woman Asiya, daughter of Mohammad Yousuf of village Nowgam and wife of Rayees Khan, resident of village Vehil Shopian was set ablaze by her husband 5 days ago at her residence. The deceased has left four year old son.
Police had registered a case (FIR No 223/2015 U/S 309 RPC) and are conducting investigations. However, no one was arrested so far.
The woman died this morning and her relatives said that the postmortem was delayed by over 3 hours as the doctors at the hospital were busy with Health Minister, Lal Singh’s visit to the hospital.
