JAMMU, Oct 5: J&K Judicial Employees Welfare Association (JEWA) today decided to observe two-day lock out strike on October 26 and 27 against callous attitude of the State High Court and Government towards their long pending demands.
The decision in this regard was taken in the meetings of the JEWA held today at both Srinagar and Jammu under the chairmanship of Aijaz Ahmad Wafaie and MR Parihar, respectively. The meetings were attended by all the district heads of Kashmir and Jammu provinces.
During the meetings, the long pending demands of the ministerial staff of subordinate judiciary which include implementation of Shetty Pay Commission recommendations, creation of staff to the newly created districts of the State, unnecessarily delay in the promotions, inadequate staff in the courts, regularization of the adhoc employees, delay in the appointment of the welfare officer of Welfare Fund, etc, were discussed in length.
The members present in the meetings expressed their serious concern that despite clear directions from Supreme Court, the recommendations of the Shetty Pay Commission with regard to the ministerial staff of the subordinate courts have not been implemented so far and the non-implementation of the agreement entered in between the then Chief Justice, Radha Krishnan and the then Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The speakers said that the High Court and the State Government were approached time and again by the association but the employees were given only assurances and till date no concrete step has been taken to mitigate their sufferings.
It was unanimously resolved in both the meetings that entire ministerial staff of subordinate courts throughout the State shall observe two-day lock out strike on October 26 and 27.
