Court convicts Asstt Compiler of DFO for one year, imposes fine of Rs 10,000

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: Special Judge, Anti Corruption Court Kashmir, YP Bourney convicted the then Assistant Compiler of District Fund Office (DFO), Srinagar for one year and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 for demanding and accepting bribe from a teacher for processing his GP Fund bill.
The accused has been identified Ghulam Mohammad Dar, the then Asstt Compiler in District Fund Office Srinagar, son of Ghulam Qadir Dar of Rabitar Ganderbal.
According to the case registered under FIR Number 16/2004 with police station Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK) on July 26, 2004, a written complaint was lodged by Abdul Majid Misger, then teacher of Government Primary School, Habak Zone Gulabagh, son of Ghulam Mohammad of New Colony, Lal Bazar, Srinagar wherein he had alleged that Ghulam Mohammad Dar had demanded Rs 2000 bribe as illegal gratification for processing his GP fund bill, which was pending in the District Fund Office, Srinagar.
Accordingly a successful trap was laid at District Fund Office Srinagar and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting an amount of Rs 2000. The amount was recovered from the possession of the accused. After completion of investigation, the sanction was obtained from the Government for launching prosecution against the accused.
Finally the challan was produced before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Kashmir, Srinagar by VOK today and Court convicted the accused for a period of one year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
The investigation of the case was conducted by then DySP Abdul Rashid Lone.
The case was prosecuted by the Ld Sr Prosecuting Officers Syed Jehangir Ahmad Rafique and Syed Sareer Ahmad.
The accused has been lodged in Central Jail Srinagar in pursuance the judgement passed by the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption Kashmir, Srinagar.
