Cooperative Union organises provincial level conference

JAMMU, Oct 5: J&K Cooperative Union Limited held one day provincial level conference in which MLA R S Pura, Dr Gagan Bhagat, was the chief guest.
Cooperative Union chairman Rajesh Kumar Sharma in his welcome address appreciated the participation of all the office bearers of primary agriculture societies and also marketing societies and the like. He said though revival of cooperative institutions is State Subject yet these are being run under national policy. Cooperative principles and byelaws of the society is a cover wall for flourishing the autonomous character of cooperative institutions.
More than 25 participants spoke on the occasion. Tejinder Singh presented floriculture activities, DP Khajuria stressed for procurement of Basmati and Maize, Angrez Singh for societies financial support for MPCS and CMS, Gulshan Kumar Gupta stressed for protection of democratic character of all cooperative institutions, Shivdev Singh Madeen stressed for farmers compensation, Dr G S Charak appreciated the role of Cooperative Union, which was endorsed by Hans Raj, Balwant Singh and Capt Behari Singh. Vikrant Singh stressed for fixation of milk rate by farmers, Basant Singh Saini stressed for ban on potato seed out of the State, while Sham Lal Manhas and Karan Singh also spoke.
MLA Dr Gagan Bhagat assured the participants that he will project the demands raised in the conference in the Assembly as well as at higher level. He also assured to take up the matter with the Chief Minister and the Minister for cooperative.
