Displaced Unit of BJP holds protest

JAMMU, Oct 5: The Displaced Unit of BJP held a protest demonstration here today in support of various demands of exiled Pandits which have compounded during last 26 years.
The protesters said that no serious steps are being taken by the Government to resolve the problems and its mindset speaks volumes of its non seriousness towards mitigating the sufferings of migrants.
The protesters expressed concern over delay in issuance of ration coupons, supply of substandard and untimely ration, delay in bifurcation and inclusion cards, denial of RBA certificates, failure to renovate and maintain the TRTs, denial of medical supply to migrant dispensaries, delaying the implementation of PM’s employment package, delay in release of pending ex-gratia of gutted houses and compensation for damaged houses, denial of medical facility and Corpse fund for serious ailments, delay in renovation of Old TRTs at Purkhoo and delay in allotment of shops at Jagti.
The protesters raising slogans alleged that it is a pity that the Government has left this community in lurch and the future of the younger generation of the community was totally dark.
The protesters while expressing dismay over denial of RBA certificates by the Government wanted to know has the status of KPs improved after the mass exodus and after losing their entire ancestral property.
The protest was led by T N Bhat president of the Displaced Unit and P L Dhar incharge Grievances Cell of the Party.
