JAMMU, Oct 5: Coming down heavily on coalition Government for its failure, especially on the issue of power and water supply, Senior Congress leader, PCC general secretary and of former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma described the coalition as “biggest failures” in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here today, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma pointed out that the residents of village Dharamkote are living without water and power for the past over one month, which forced the people to come on roads and burnt the effigy of the coalition Government as well as Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Singh, who had turned a deaf ear to the day-to-day emerging problems of the people of Billawar constituency particularly village Dharamkote.
Dr Sharma added that the people are suffering for basic amenities not only in village Dharamkote but similar position of power and water supply are prevailing in other areas of the Billawar constituency. The unscheduled cuts of electricity and almost all water supply installations are defunct due to burning of motors and pumps but no body bothers to take care about the sufferings of people. Deputy CM Dr Nirmal Kumar Singh who is representing Billawar constituency has nothing to do with the miseries of the people, he alleged.
He further said that it is very unfortunate that the people have to come to roads for minor problems. It has now became a routine affairs that people are agitating and coming on roads daily to get their basic needs filled. Nobody seems to be accountable for the defunct machinery of administration and to address the routine problems, Dr Sharma added.
