Srinagar, Oct 6: Government today admitted that large numbers of families across the State are without ration cards.
However, it said that the printing of ration cards is under process and will be issued shortly among the genuine rationees. The question regarding the ration cards was raised by MLC Ajatshatru Singh.
In a written reply, the Government further stated that district-wise committees were constituted for conducting of comprehensive survey over issuance of ration cards.
“The identification of the families as per census 2011 has been conducted by these committees. However, the left out families for their inclusion in the list under various categories is under process and also in active consideration,” the Government stated.
