Leh, Oct 6: To review the progress of Leh Beautification Project under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), the Deputy Commissioner Prasanna Ramasawami G along with Executive Engineer R&B, PHE, CPO, Leh and other concerned engineers today inspected the ongoing works.
While inspecting the ongoing works at main market, DC directed X-En. R&B to use remaining working season very judiciously so that this prestigious project could be completed well before the starting of tourist season next year, adding that this project should be competed in the month of June 2016.
He also directed X-En. R&B to coordinate with PDD and BSNL departments for lying of electrical and communication lines under the ground in main city at the earliest. For execution of this project in more planned way, DC directed engineers to provide the original plan map of the project indicating all the features and present progress of the project to him at the earliest so that he could take some decision to speed up the project.
Later, DC along with all the engineers also visited ongoing construction works of Open Stadium and Youth Hostel at Spituk which is being executed under ‘Task Force’. The X-en. R&B, briefing about the Rs. 200 crore projects informed the DC that till date Rs. 5 crore has been released and expended in full.
