To support his claim, he said, “Recently our team visited a remote village of Kathua district namely Nerath after two cases of Dengue were reported from there. On visiting the village out team found larvae in the water stored by the villagers in open drums and other utensils”.
“Besides, doing fogging and spraying in the village, our team also made the villages aware about Dengue, its symptoms, causes and also required precautions”, he added.
Dr Pathania said that a health advisory has been already issued by the Centre which has been widely published in local dailies to create awareness among people about the disease.
“People need to take precautions to save themselves from mosquito bites”, he said and appealed the people to desist from storing water in open drums and pots, which are breeding ground for larvae.
