Two killed in road accidents

JAMMU, Oct 6: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a cyclist identified as Sher Singh (40-45) son of Munshi Singh, a resident of Majalta in Udhampur district (at present residing in Gangyal) was hit and seriously injured by a speeding mini-bus bearing registration number JK21B-4811 at Digiana Puli falling in the limits of Satwari police station.
The injured man was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Meanwhile, a youth identified as Mohd Arif (23) son of Ghulam Mohd, a resident of Sitli (Nagrota By-pass), who was injured in a road mishap late last night and was undergoing treatment here at GMCH, today succumbed to his injuries at about 2.25 am.
After conducting post mortem, the bodies of both the deceased were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites.
In both cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
