JAMMU, Oct 7: A man allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his temporary residence at Channi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the man identified as Ramesh (35) son of Khilvaa, a resident of Madhya Pradesh (at present Channi Himmat in Jammu), was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu after he allegedly consumed some poisonous substance at his present residence, yesterday.
However, the man expired today at about 10.50 am in the hospital. After conducting postmortem, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites.
A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station. However, it could not be ascertained immediately that why the man took such extreme step.
