JAMMU, Oct 7: Bishnah and Jourian police nabbed two persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Bishnah police station led by SHO Inspector Surinder Pal Singh under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu Randheer Singh and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand intercepted a person on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 42 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the man and arrested him on the spot.
The accused has been identified as Amarjeet Singh alias Kaka, son of Pritam Singh, a resident of Deoli.
A case under FIR Number 148/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the bootlegger at police station Bishnah and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police team from Jourian police post led by SI Sukhvir Singh under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand arrested a bootlegger along with 50 pouches of illicit liquor.
The accused has been identified as Kaku Ram, son of Beli Ram, a resident of Troti, Jourian.
A case under FIR Number 182/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at police post Jourian and investigation of the case is going on.
