PORBANDAR, Aug 25:
Defence Minister A K Antony today said India will find out an amicable solution to the Sir Creek marshlands with Pakistan.
The Sir Creek is a 96-km-long disputed territory between India and Pakistan in the Rann of Kutch marshlands, which opens up into the Arabian Sea. The creek divides the Kutch region of Gujarat State in India and the Sindh province of Pakistan.
Talking to mediapersons after the inauguration of the Coastal Radar Network here, he said India would continue its discussion on the land boundary in the Sir Creek area with the Pakistani Authority and will find out an amicable solution.
Commenting on the security for the fishermen, the Minister assured that Government would take all necessary security measures for the fisherfolks living in the coastal belt.
The coastal belt is very important from the strategic point of view and Government would take all steps to enhance the security with the modern equipment, he added. (UNI)
