JAMMU, Oct 8: Nagrota police arrested five gamblers along with Rs 1,690 stake money and playing cards.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Nagrota police station conducted raid in Sidhra area and arrested five gamblers.
Police recovered Rs 1,690 stake money and playing cards from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Mohammad Hanif, son of Sabar Ali, Mohammad Tariq, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohammad Hussain, son of Mohammad Bashir and Mohammad Arif, son of Mohammad Iqbal, all residents of Israrabad, Sidhra and Khusnood Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed Wani of Bathindi,
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered against the accused at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team headed by SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and assisted by SHO Nagrota Inspector Dilip Singh and Incharge Police Post Sidhra SI Noor Mohammad made the arrests under the supervision of SP Rural Rajeev Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
