JAMMU, Oct 9: The protest demonstrations continued for the second consecutive day today in different parts of Jammu region against the sacrilegious act at Chenani yesterday and hosting of beef Party by MLA Langate Engineer Rashid at MLAs Hostel Srinagar on October 7.
Infuriated by sacrilegious and law defying “Beef party’’ by Independent MLA Engineer Rashid at Srinagar under the nose of the State Government and the subsequent sacrilegious act at Chenani hundreds of Panthers Party activists led by Harsh Dev Singh its chairman along with Yashpal Kundal, State president Young Panthers and other leaders staged a massive protest demonstration at Exhibition Ground here today.
Lambasting the BJP partnered State Government for turning a blind eye over the verboten “beef party’’ organized by Engineer Rashid at MLA Hostel Srinagar, Mr Singh said that MLA during the party not only delivered rants flaring communal passions but also dared legislators, judiciary and other institutions relevance by his felonious act committed in the government premises. He demanded registration of criminal case against the MLA and his arrest.
VHP State president Leela Karan Sharma has also strongly condemned the sacrilegious act at Chenani said this is the second successive condemnable incident after the “beef party’’ at Srinagar thereby openly confronting and challenging the Hindus and injuring their sentiments.
While talking to reporters here, today he said this can inflame the peaceful atmosphere and create hatred between two communities in the State.
Leela Karan Sharma also called upon the saner persons of the Muslim community to come forward openly to advice and control these insane people who are hell bent to create disturbances in the State. He warned that such incidents if not nipped in the bud can create uncontrollable conditions in the State as the atmosphere was already surcharged by Engineer Rashid’s action in the State.
Turning tables on National Conference (NC), he said Rashid violated the law which even responsible people like Omar Abdullah have supported and this is strongly condemnable.
He said the Hindus worship the cow not only because she is a sacred animal but due to other hygienic benefits from its by products.
He urged both Central and State Governments to act and arrest all those responsible for commission of offences and besides charging them under Section 298 A and they should also be booked under Section 153 A of RPC for disturbing communal harmony failing which VHP will be forced to come on the streets.
VHP patron Dr Ramakant Dubey termed the Engineer Rashid’s act a preplanned conspiracy and questioned the role of State intelligence agencies. He said the act has taken place when Union Home Secretary was in the State and was not he sounded by intelligence agencies before hand that such activities are going to take place in the Valley.
Dr Dubey said was not the CM aware of the happenings as he is heading the Home Department of the State also.
He said it was not the intelligence failure as the Government was fully aware of the same and it deliberately did not act before hand. Dr Dubey said that from NC leader Omar Abdullah to Hurriyat Conference all were involved in this heinous act. He wanted to know why Centre and Union Home Secretary are calm and why action was not taken against Rashid who challenged the judgment openly.
Panun Kashmir convener Dr Agnishekhar and chairman Dr Ajay Chrungoo have strongly condemned the sacrilegious act at Chenani and hosting of beef Party by MLA Engineer Rashid.
Yuva Rajput Sabha held a strong demonstration at Bantalab Chowk against MLA Rashid for hosting “beef party’’ and sacrilegious act in Chenani. The protest was led by YRS president, Surinder Singh and the protestors disrupted movement of traffic on the road.
The JJSF unit of GGM Science College protested against the beef party hosted by engineer Rashid and sacrilegious act at Chenani. The protest was held near the Shahidi Sathal at GGM Science College. The protest was led by Vikas Pandita president, JJSF Unit of the College along with other leaders. The protestors shouted slogans against the Government.
Jammu West Assembly Movement president Sunil Dimple has also strongly condemned the sacrilegious act and hosting of beef Party by Engineer Rashid.
J&K Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee has also strongly criticized the MLA Rashid for violating State Constitution by hosting the beef party and also slammed the BJP for playing a fixed match with MLA Rashid to gain cheap popularity. The Party also criticized the NC and Congress legislators’ role over the issue and urged them to clarify the stand.
Former Minister and PCC general secretary Dr Manohar Lal while expressing his serious concern over the prevailing situation in the State said that BJP has failed to achieve its so called basic slogan “Ek Nishan, Ek Vidhan and Ek Pradhan’’ but succeeded in opening the sale of beef in the State which was banned under the RPC.
Jammu Justice Secular Forum (JSSF) has condemning the sacrilegious act and hosting of beef party. This was stated by JSSF President Pushvinder Singh here today.
Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackeray J&K unit held a demonstration under the leadership of its chairman Rakesh Gupta, general secretary, G I Singh, vice president, Sanjeev Kohli, Sandeep Bhagat and Vinay Gupta to protest against the sacrilegious act and hosting of beef Party by MLA Rashid.
The protestors demanded arrest of culprits and registering of case against Rashid who should be booked under the law of the land also.
Jammu Civil Society held a meeting here, today at Trikuta Complex which was organized by Sachin Sharma MD and Sunny ED of JMC Group.
The meeting among others was addressed by president Bar Association Jammu Abhinav Sharma, former MLA and NPP State president in which the beef party and sacrilegious act was strongly condemned.
All Parties Hindu Coordination Committee member Rajiv Mahajan appealed all social and political parties to join struggle launched by panthers for expressing their anguish against the sacrilegious acts.
Duggar Pradesh Party has also strongly condemned the hosting of beef party and sacrilegious act in the State. Dogra Sadar Sabha in its emergency meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Neel Kanth Dogra, senior vice president of Sabha has also condemned the sacrilegious act and hosting of beef party in the State.
All Migrants Camp Coordination Committee has strongly condemned the sacrilegious act at Chenani and hosting of beef Party by Engineer Rashid. The Committee has fully supported action of Ravinder Raina BJP MLA and his colleagues and demanded arrest of Rashid and other MLAs.
