MENDHAR, Oct 9: The police today arrested an Army jawan on the charge of rape on a young woman at Sagra in Mankote area of Mendhar.
Identified as Haq Nawaz, son of Mohd Zaman, resident of Sagra, he was absconding after the offence for the last three days. The police party led by SI Shabir Ahmed today arrested him from a hideout. He belongs to 106 Engineer Regiment located in Punjab. He had come to his home on leave for the last few days. The police has registered a case FIR No. 130/ 2015 under section 376 RPC against him.
