Bar, others endorse NPP bandh

JAMMU, Oct 9: To protest against the sacrilegious act at Chenani yesterday and hosting of “beef party” by Independent MLA from Langate in North Kashmir’s district of Kupwara, Engineer Rashid, National Panthers Party has given a Jammu bandh call for tomorrow and appealed the people to make it a success. The bandh call was supported by various organizations including Bar Association Jammu.
The announcement to this effect was made by NPP chairman and former Minister Harshdev Singh while addressing a protest demonstration organized by the Party at Exhibition ground here today, against the sacrilegious act and hosting of beef party by Engineer Rashid at Srinagar on October 7.
The bandh call was endorsed by president Bar Association Jammu, Abhiv Sharma, Sardar Balbir Singh chairman of 2X2 Buses Association Jammu, Krishen Manhas president Shiv Sena Jammu, Deeraj Sharma general secretary Trikuta Complex and other leaders. During a joint meeting here today the leaders of these organizations appealed the people to support the bandh call.
Others who endorsed the tomorrow’s bandh call included Jammu Lawyers Forum led by B S Salathia,  Panun Kashmir leaders Dr Agnishekhar and Ajay Chrungoo, Jammu West Assembly Movement president, Sunil Dimple, All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee, led by Desh Rattan, Dogra Saddar Sabha, Jammu and  Jammu Justice Secular Forum (JJSF) led by Pushvinder Singh,
Extending full support to JKNPP Jammu bandh call tomorrow All Parties Hindu Coordination Committee (APHCC) member Rajiv Mahajan appealed all social and political parties to join struggle launched by Panthers.
Duggar Pradesh Party senior vice president Neel Kant and KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri have also supported the bandh call.
National Democratic Party (NDP) led by Ravi Bakshi while endorsing the bandh call alleged that BJP and PDP were trying to create communal tension and division among the people.
