DGP reviews law & order, security scenario of Jammu

JAMMU, Oct 11: K. Rajendra Kumar, DGP, J&K today held a meeting with Jammu based senior officers of Armed ,CID, Traffic and Range DIGs of Jammu province and SSPs of Jammu/Samba/Kathua at PCR in order to review the prevailing law and order situation/ security scenario.
He also discussed about the planned security arrangements in connection with forthcoming religious festivals and Darbar move at Winter Capital.
During the meeting detailed briefing was given by IGP Jammu in connection with police security arrangements planned for Navartra Festivals, Dusherra, Moharrum, Commemoration Day Function and opening of Darbar Move offices at Jammu.  He also informed that to ensure adequate arrangement for Navratra at Katra and Jammu, two meetings were held with all stake holders for the smooth conduct of the events.
He also informed that social media become very significant medium of modern time which has some advantage and disadvantage but police is very careful to counter any false propaganda of miscreants, trouble creators and vested interest.
He further said that vulnerable points have been identified on NHW and adequate deployment will be made to plug these points to prevent the incident like Udhampur.
There-after detailed briefing was given by the intelligence agencies, Range DIGs and district SSP/SSP Traffic with regard to issues related to law and order of their respective districts. During meeting threadbare discussions were held on the issues raised by the participants and DGP assured them to solve the same amicably.
After the detailed briefing by the participants, DGP stressed upon them to take stern action against miscreants/mischievous mongers involved in creating law and order issue and if required, book them under PSA and also ensure frequent use of preventive section of law. He also directed the Range DIGs and District SSPs to mobilise their all resources/sources available with them for generation of advance intelligence relating information bearing on law and order so that timely action is taken.   He particularly stressed them to ensure that law and order is maintained at any cost and mischievous mongers and miscreants should be identified well in advance and booked under law.
All the officers were directed to maintain highest level of alertness and co-ordination among themselves and also to share the intelligence related information directly bearing to the forthcoming religious festivals and opening of darbar move in real time basis to foil the nefarious designs of ANEs and their mentors across the IB.
DGP stressed upon the SSPs of Jammu, Samba and Kathua to lay Joint Nakas on all the infiltration routes. All Border Police Stations/ Police Posts, VDC members, be strengthened and proper briefing be given to them by supervisory offices regularly regarding nature of duties to be performed by them in view of present security scenario/huge build up of militants across the Border. Night patrolling on National Highway be conducted and a close liaison be maintained with all forces deployed in their area of jurisdictions.  He further directed all the forces including intelligence agencies to pay special attention to the area where fencing has been damaged on IB.
The DGP also exhorted upon the Range DIGs and District SSP to ensure that beat system is fully active at Police Station/Police Post Level and Beat Incharge/Beat men should be properly briefed to their role and generation of information from the area of responsibility.
