KCCI, JCCI condemn attack on trucker; demand action

SRINAGAR, Oct 12: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry members in a joint statement today strongly condemned  the attack on trucker at Udhampur and demanded stern action against the accused involved.
In a meeting of the executive members of both the Chambers held here today under the leadership of KCCI president Mushtaq Ahmed Wani and JCCI chief Rakesh Gupta, both the trade leaders expressed serious concern over the issue and described this incident as politically motivated. They said some people are trying to disturb peace in the State and divide people on communal and regional lines for their vested interests.
While condemning the incident of attack on truck driver from Kashmir region at Udhampur by some miscreants, both the heads of  Kashmir and Jammu Chamber demanded high level inquiry and action against all the accused. They at the same time felt that such incidents would certainly have adverse impact on the people from all walks of life and people should see through the designs of such disruptive forces. They appealed the people to maintain communal harmony and peace and frustrate the designs of such forces.
Both Chamber leaders appealed the Government to increase security on the highway and ensure that no such incident could take place in future. They demanded arrest and action under law of all the accused persons.
It was also resolved in the meeting that both  the Chambers will jointly fight all such elements who want to dilute the identity of the permanent residents of J&K by debating on sections of constitution.
