JAMMU, Oct 14: The Finance Department today granted sanction for revalidation of unspent funds worth Rs 6.74 crores in favour of Home Department, which had been granted under `Prime Minister’s package for floods’ for permanent restoration of damaged infrastructure during current financial year of 2015-16.
“The revalidated funds will be utilized for permanent restoration of identified flood works only. The utilization of funds will be subject to some conditions,’’ official sources said.
They added that instant works will have to be completed during the current financial year 2015-16 to avoid any additional financial implications.
An official order said the Home Department will have to ensure that the funds were not utilized on any item of temporary restoration. There will be no overlapping of funds from any other source such as SDRF/State Plan/District Plan, CSS/Flagship programme or any other source, it added.
