JAMMU, Oct 14: A couple was injured today in a road mishap in Surinsar area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Manwal.
According to a police spokesperson, the mishap occurred this morning when the Alto car bearing registration No JK01H-7040, in which the couple was travelling, was hit by a Tata Mahindra vehicle bearing registration No JK02BK-9805.
In the mishap both husband and wife, who have been identified as Mukhtyar Ahmed (40) and Habida Bibi (35), residents of Surinsar, got injuries and were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, for treatment.
A case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and both the vehicles involved in the mishap seized. However, the accused driver of Tata Mahindra fled from the spot.
