JAMMU, Oct 15: A workshop on export awareness was organised at Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) Bhawan here today.
The workshop was inaugurated by Dy DG Foreign Trade, M K Nikhare and it was dedicated for re-rolling and engineering clusters of Jammu region. Mr Nikhare briefed the audience about the role if Directorate General of Foreign Trade while Ramesh Kumar Verma, ITS, Asstt DGFT & Opinder Singh, Dy Director EEPC India were the key speakers.
President, Bari Brahmana Industries Association Lalit Mahajan, several executive members of BBIA besides industrialists from steel and engineering sector were also present on the occasion. The programme was collaborated with the Engineering Export Council of India.
Mr Verma commenced his speech by giving brief introduction of India’s Export and Import sector and gave a detail of top export destination countries. He presented an impressive picture of steel and engineering sector of India and its growth and linked it with the demand in infrastructure and industrial production.
He expressed hope that engineering export from India is going to cross 70 billion US dollars during this financial year and it will be golden opportunity for the traders of Jammu if they can grab their share in this huge basket.
Opinder Singh also educated the gathering about export to the Jammu industrialists. He elaborated the role and schemes run by EEPC India like MDA and MAI.
Lalit Mahajan, BBIA president presented the vote of thanks on the occasion.
