Ex-minister Sabir dies; CM, Azad condole demise

MENDHAR, Oct 15: Former Minister,  legislator  and veteran Congress leader, Ch Lal Mohd Sabir, hailing from Sagra (Balnoi) area of Mendhar in district Poonch died here today.
He was 90 and is survived by his wife, five sons and two daughters.
Family sources said that Mr Sabir was ailing for the last several months and he breathed his last at 11 am here today. His body was earlier kept at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School  Mendhar where people from all walks of life offered special prayers (Namaz-e-Janaza). The body was later taken to his home village Sagra where mortal remains of Late Sabir was buried. Large number of people from all walks of life besides officers from the Administration paid their last rites and attended the funeral.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed has expressed grief over the sad demise of former Minister and legislator Lal Mohd Sabir and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family. He prayed for the peace to the departed soul.
Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and senior AICC leader Ghulam Nabi Azad also expressed grief and shock on the demise of prominent  Gujjar leader Lal Mohd Sabir and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
