UDHAMPUR, Oct 15: Minister of State for Finance Pawan Gupta inaugurated a three day district level exhibition cum sale of Khadi and village industries products manufactured by entrepreneurs of KVIB here today.
The district level Sale cum Exhibition is being organized by J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB), Udhampur to provide an opportunity to the beneficiaries financed under REGP and PMEGP schemes to exhibit and sell their products.
The Minister while appreciating the KVIB for its initiative of organizing exhibition at Udhampur said that such exhibition would go a long way and become a model of inspiration for the new entrepreneurs and unemployed youth to overcome the fear of risk of enterprises. He urged the unemployed youth to take maximum benefits of the different income generating schemes of the Government to establish their own income generating units for their socio economic upliftment. He also instructed the District Officers of Industries, Handicraft, Handloom and KVIB to organize a capacity building programme for the entrepreneurs.
Earlier, the Minister had a round of different sale outlets setup by the entrepreneurs and interacted with them.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer KVIB, Jammu Division, Santosh Saraf  gave a brief resume of the schemes being implemented by the department. He said the KVIB is committed to generate more employment in rural sector to encourage the youth to set up industrialization.
In all twelve stalls were installed by the different departments like Handicraft, Handloom, and entrepreneur of KVIB of the district exhibiting blankets, steel Almiras, mouldings, mineral water, Khadi  and other products.
General Manager, DIC, Neelam Khajuria,  District Officer, KVIB, Udhampur, officers of various departments and large number of people were present on the occasion.
