SAMBA, Oct 17: Former Minister and senior vice-president, National Conference (NC), Surjeet Singh Slathia today described the performance of the PDP-BJP Government during the past eight months as dismal and disappointing, saying the common man is suffering on all the fronts.
“While development remains a far cry, the problems of the people have accumulated with nobody in the Government showing any sign of concern or response”, Slathia said while addressing a huge party rally in Vijaypur.
Taking dig over the coalition Government for hype about huge package from the Centre, especially for those who have suffered due to flash floods and incessant rains, Slathia said the commitments made during the Government formation and after are proving as pipe dreams.
“With euphoria of governance having perished, the two parties were inciting passions by raking up communal and regional passions as a cover to their failures”, he said and cautioned the coalition not to test the patience of the people.
He said the times have proved that PDP-BJP duo believes in politics of disruption and not development. “The State is at the verge of collapse due to wrong policies of the vision-less Government”, he said adding that NC cannot be a mute spectator to growing public woes.
The former Minister also expressed concern over shortage of supplies on CAPD outlets, erratic power supply and scarcity of drinking water and said the Government cannot shirk its responsibilities towards the people and leave them in lurch because of its visionless agenda.
Senior party functionaries of the constituency also addressed the rally which was attended by large number of people, especially the youth of the constituency.
