JAMMU, Oct 17: Various delegations call on Union Minister of State in PMO Dr Jitendra Singh during his visit here today.
They included a delegation of people from Malai village in Inderwal Assembly Segment of Kishtwar district, delegation of producers Directors led by Bihari Kak a TV producer and Director and All Displaced Kashmiri Pandits Action Forum (ADKPAF) led by Bal Ji Hazare.
The delegation from Malai village was led by Tara Chand Parihar chairman Panchayat Sangana and it expressed concern over problem faced by the people in the area due to non availability of ration.
The delegation also demanded the adaptation of village which is facing a serious threat of land slides and soil erosion besides taking of effective pre-emptive measures to check the same.
The delegation of producers and directors demanded that the commissioning of the programmes be started on D D Kashir which has been stopped for last four years now. The action of the Prasar Bharti authorities has put the producers, directors, artists and others associated with the field of art to virtual starvation.
Bihari Kak while seeking the intervention of Dr Singh urged him to take up the issue with Prasar Bharti authorities. He said the artists’ fraternity is in a state of distress and they are left with no alternative but to come to streets. He also demanded starting of separate Dogri Channel for Jammu.
Dr Singh asked the artists to visit Delhi so that the issue will be taken up concerned Ministry there.
The delegation of ADKP Action Forum demanded that RBA status to migrants from RBA areas of Valley be restored, medical cases be settled without hurdle and the bifurcation process of ration cards be intensified. Hazare was accompanied by vice president of his organization Deepak Kaul and Virender Pandita.
