“Knee replacement surgery is done for patients who have severe pain in the knees making it difficult for them to perform daily chores. Knee replacement is the only option when all kinds of conventional chemotherapeutic treatments, physiotherapy and braces have failed. It involves making a cut on front of the knee. The worn out painful parts of the knee joint are removed using special jigs and replaced by metal implants. Joint replacement surgery involves a team of Orthopedic Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Physiotherapists and Nursing staff”, he stated.
