JAMMU, Oct 19: J&K Temporary Teacher’s Association held a protest demonstration here today demanding regularization.
Large number of temporary teachers assembled at Exhibition Ground here and raised slogans in favour of their demands. The protest was held under the leadership of Balwinder Singh Pawar, president, J&K Temporary Teacher’s Association.
While speaking, Pawar urged the Government for immediate regularization of all J&K temporary teachers, who were appointed vide cabinet decision No. 106/14 dated 11/6/14 and Government order number 482 dated 2-7-17 purely on merit basis.
He added that Government is giving only assurance to educated youth to settle their demands, but nothing has been done on practical grounds till date.
He stated that during the hunger strike in the month of March-April 2015, Government assured the teachers that policy for legalization will be framed within three months. But six months have passed but no steps have been taken till today, he said, adding that the matter was also pursued with MoS Priya Sethi and Director School Education Jammu, but they also failed to do anything.
“Now our future will spoil if one more extension/continuation will not be given to us”, he said and warned the Government to start hunger strike in front of Civil Secretariat Jammu and for any untoward incident, the Government will be responsible.
