It has been reported that there is a sharp decline in infiltration bids in Jammu and Kashmir. This development is attributed to a number of confidence building measures initiated by the State and Central Governments.
So far so good. But the situation as it unfolds at the border areas and the increase in attacks on security forces, particularly, State police does not warrant complacency.
Rather vigil needs to be further strengthened so as not to allow miscreants any opportunity to take undue advantage of the situation.
Pakistan and China both these countries are strengthening their defence structure all along the border. The constant firing by Pak rangers in border areas is aimed at pushing infiltrators into this part of the country. We have to be very cautions to maintain our sovereignty.
