Committee for nomination to training courses reconstituted

SRINAGAR, Aug 27: Government today re-constituted committee for recommending officers for nomination to various training courses and programmes being held outside the State but within the country.
According to an order issued by General Administration Department, Principal Secretary, Finance Department is the Chairman of the Committee while as Commissioner/ Secretary, Department of Tourism and Culture and Secretary, General Administration Department are the members of the Committee. Deputy Secretary, General Administration Department (Services) is the Member Secretary of the Committee.
A criteria has also been laid which will be followed by the committee while recommending officers for training programmes outside the State.
The KAS officers of each pay scale will be deputed for training on rotation basis in order of seniority. Same procedure will be adopted for non-KAS officers also. The officers, who have less than two years service left for retirement may not be considered for training.
An officer, who attends a training programme will not be deputed for second time unless all other eligible offices have been deputed for such training. The officers recommended for training should not have attended any similar training programme earlier.
Adequate representation will be given to the officers of all the three regions of the State so that the benefits of training percolate uniformly to all the regions. An officer, who is nominated for training and who fails to attend the same for no convincing reasons will be debarred from future training programmes atleast for a period of two years beginning from the date, he has nominated for the programme which he didn’t attend.
