RAMBAN, Oct 22: In a hit-and-run case, a Government employee was crushed to death by a mini-bus in Batote area of the district here.
As per police sources, an employee of Animal Husbandry Department identified as Mir Wali, son of Noor Din of Bogal, at present Batote was crossing the road, when a rashly driven mini-bus crushed him. The driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot.
The profusely bleeding victim was rushed to Critical Health Centre (CHC) Batote from where he was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for advanced treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries near Patnitop.
The body of the victim was handed over to family members for last rites after completing medical and legal formalities.
The mini-bus bearing registration number JK14A-7653 with which the victim died was traced and seized by the police.
A case under FIR Number 103/15 has been registered at Batote Police Station and manhunt launched to nab the driver.
However, the driver remained at large till last reports were compiled.
