BABAYN delegation to visit Chota Amarnath shrine today

JAMMU, Aug 27: A 15 member delegation of Baba Amarnath Baba Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas (BABAYN) is leaving for Srinagar tomorrow and visit Bhagwan Daneshwar Ji Mahraj at Bandipora for promotion of annual pilgrimage there.
The shrine is also known as Chota Amarnath and the BABAYN has been  approached by J&K, Ladakh Tourism Development Corporation and various other prominent tour and travel organizations of the State to promote this pilgrimage on the pattern of holy Amarnath and  Buda Amarnath shrines.
The delegation will explore the possibilities of riving this annual yatra which was going on uninterrupted till 1989 and had to be abandoned due to militancy afterwards. The local people of the area are also interested that the historical pilgrimages which were abandoned during militancy time, be revived as local stake holders of these areas have offered to provide every possible support for reviving of the yatra of Chota Amarnath Ji.
The delegation will also explore the possibilities whether a pilgrimage/ domestic tourist circuit can be promoted in the area as world famous and largest sweet water lake in entire Asia, Wuller Lake, Manasbal Lake and the famous shrine of Kheer Bhawani can also be included in the itinerary of the people visiting the Valley which can also help in improving the economic condition of the people of those areas, a handout issued by the Niyas here today said.
It said with the promotion of tourism pilgrimage the people in these areas will get an opportunity to raise infrastructure on their own, for catering to the domestic requirements of the tourists and pilgrims who may visit there in near future.
