Governor, CM pay tributes to Karbala martyrs

SRINAGAR, Oct 23: Governor N. N. Vohra, today paid tributes to the sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and other martyrs of Karbala.
In a message on the eve of Aashoor-e-Muharram, the Governor said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions sacrificed their lives for upholding the high values of truth, justice and righteousness. He added that their martyrdom reminds mankind of the high principles of human dignity and morality.
The Governor prayed for peace, harmony and normalcy in the State.
Reminding people on the eve of Ashura Muharram about the supreme sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that Karbala teaches us the lesson of upholding the principles of righteousness in all trying circumstances and denying forces of evil to make us bow or succumb before them.
In his message, Mufti Sayeed said Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions symbolise the firm faith in the Almighty Allah, purity of thought and greatest degree of sacrifice to uphold truth and human dignity. “The unparalleled courage, sacrifice and patience exhibited by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions at Karbala was beacon of light for Muslims and would continue to enlighten and guide the whole of mankind forever,” he added.
The Chief Minister said the very act of sacrifice teaches us steadfastness for supremacy of the truth and our unity would be the biggest tribute to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
