Close shave for GoAir passengers

JAMMU, Aug 27: About 175 passengers in Srinagar bound GoAir flight had a narrow escape at Jammu Airport this morning when it was hit by a bird on the runway. The flight was aborted.
Official sources said the GoAir flight had landed at Jammu Airport from New Delhi and was on way to Srinagar. The flight was on the runway fully prepared to take off in next few seconds when it was hit by a bird. A fan of the aircraft was damaged.
The pilot immediately aborted the flight. The passengers were asked to de-board. They had a narrow escape.
Later, another GoAir flight reached Jammu Airport from Srinagar and the passengers were accommodated in that flight.
The bird hit flight was this evening flown to New Delhi after repair.
