CBI confirms arrest of Chhota Rajan in Indonesia

NEW DELHI : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today confirmed the arrest of fugitive don Chhota Rajan, wanted in a several murder cases in India, by the Bali police in Indonesia.
According to CBI sources, Chhota Rajan has been arrested after CBI made a request through Interpol. As per the reports, the Australian Police today gave a tip-off to Indonesian authorities who then detained Rajendra Sadashiv Nikalje, alias Chhota Rajan on Sunday when he arrived at the popular resort island of Bali from Sydney.
Interpol flagged 55-year-old Nikalje as a wanted man back in 1995, who has been on the run for two decades. Reports said that Bali police were coordinating with Interpol and Indian authorities and Nikalje is likely to be deported to India.
Nikalje was arrested in Indonesia after Interpol in Canberra alerted Indonesian authorities, who then arrested him at the request of Indian authorities, reports added.
