CS reviews progress on Jammu-Srinagar NH

SRINAGAR, Oct 27: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma today reviewed the progress on widening of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in a meeting, he chaired here.
Chief Secretary received brief on the action taken with respect to the directions given in the previous review meeting held on September 22 on the matter.
With substantial progress reported in addressing the issues impeding the fast track completion of the project, Chief Secretary stressed on immediate disposal of few remaining land acquisition and compensation cases besides certain structure that need to be removed to pave way for unhindered construction of the National Highway.
Fresh timelines were fixed for Deputy Commissioners, Revenue Department, NHAI and concessionaires with respect to clearing the remaining cases and bottlenecks.
“Take immediate action to expedite and clear all cases impeding the construction of the road”, Chief Secretary told the concerned officers, adding that further progress will again be reviewed in the last week of November.
